BIO

Cary Holladay’s awards include an O. Henry Prize and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Brides in the Sky: Stories and a Novella is her latest work of fiction. A native of Virginia, she teaches creative writing at the University of Memphis.

Brides in the Sky: Cary Holladay Fiction Reading and Q&A


Cary Holladay will read from her new book, Brides in the Sky: Stories and a Novella (Ohio UP / Swallow Press 2019). Themes include sisterhood, myths, and migration. The title story is in The Hudson Review's 70th Anniversary Issue. Other works in the collection have appeared in Epoch, Shenandoah, Oxford American, and elsewhere. The reading will be followed by a brief Q&A with the author.
